Brake Disc Bolts

The workshop manual says if you remove the brake disc retaining bolts you have to renew them. My question is, is this really necessary. (10 bolts at £67 is expensive).
Any thoughts on this please?
 
It’s a bolt,why would you replace it after one use? It’s not a head bolt that gets stretched to the correct length ,it comes from Triumph with a locking agent on the thread if you feel the need use some loctite for peace of mind............of coarse the factory tell you to replace them,that’s how they make lot’s of money!
 
Wrong my friend. The threads are designed to be used one time and one time only. They are what are known as locking threads. As you Tighten the bolt the threads have a lip on them which lock the bolt in place. Same bolts are used in the auto industry. The same design is used on the casing bolts on the rocket. Once used they are shot.
 
Here you go Mike,if you really want to spend some money,these are better quality and half the price,I wouldn’t get hung up on the originals.
It’s an M8 x 30 mm bolt ,probably not particularly good quality reading how many have had them shear trying to remove them personally rather than loctiting steel bolts into alloy I’d be using copper slip so they can be removed at a later date if required .

NO!. Be very wary of that stuff. Sure, it prevents the threads seizing together... but it also prevents them holding together. They work loose, very easily. Not a good outcome!

If you get the titanium bolts, they won't seize anyway.
