As you are aware I traded my beloved 05 Rocket Standard for a 2020 Bobber Black. I have enjoyed the bike but it had some issues I wasn't willing to live with, so the first change was going to forward controls. That got the riding position much more in tune with bulky frame as I felt wadded up with the standard pegs. Then the jackhammer spinal hits from the limp rear shock had to addressed, so installed an Ohlins TR729 rear shock with a spring rated for my weight. Upped the preload to about 2/3 adjuster and now the back end doesn't bottom out with only 3 inches of travel. That left the front suspension being as limp as the rear (matched set) so installed a Matris emulator kit with preload, rebound and compression damping adjustability. Took it for a 70 mile shakedown ride yesterday and it was brilliant. To soften the ride more I swapped the stock seat for a Tom Hurley custom that had me smiling for 70 miles.
