Bikes ive owned

I've had cars I've really liked to drive and few flyers - including a 351 Falcon and a 1275 Mini Cooper S. The one I probably liked the best was a 10 year old at the time, 1969 Jaguar XJ6, 4 speed manual box with electronic overdrive - although the Cooper S was a blast. But it was still a car and still got just as stuck in traffic. Just like you TC, none of them gave me the feeling I get when I ride a motorcycle. And of course no other motorcycle compares to the Rocket.

Tried to buy an E36 (I think) when I was 17 from an auction (triple webber carbs) my old man put a stop to that one as he ran the auction company.
i shoehorned a 327ci v8 into my 1976 LH Torana instead.

You blokes should have been in Albany this w'end. Close off the main streets of the CDB and race vintage and pre 70 cars around town. Lot of Monaros , Falcon GT's Mustangs and Toranas. Vintage open wheelers were a hoot. Albany only place in Australia that holds 'round the houses racing' .. been running since the 1940's .. cool town Albany.

I built up a Purvis Eureka kit car in the 70's.
Bolted the fibreglass body to a VW floor pan and mated a blue printed 1600 cortina cross flow motor with side draft webber to the VW gearbox.
With all the weight in the back it would wheel stand in second gear if you hit it hard.
Used it to scare the mates and chase the girls.
