Bike is a bit "floppy" whilst driving

I think there is something wrong with my bike.

After separating the parasitic sidecar from the Rocket so that I could go out and raise a bit of hell, I noticed a distinct sensation of floppiness while out riding around.

When going around 90 degree turns, the bike acts as if it wants to fall over.

When going around fast sweeping turns, I grab the handle bars hard and turn toward the curve, but to my shock and surprise, the bike actually leans the opposite direction and seems to be intent on steering me directly into the quickly approaching ditch.

After this somewhat perplexing ride, I arrive home and begin to step off the bike, when it starts to fall over! I "re-discovered" a quite handy kickstand on the left hand side and put that down, and it seems to hold the bike mostly upright, only to discover now that the bike has a "stalling" problem when you put the kickstand down. It almost seemed as though it stalled the second that I put the kick stand down. Strange. I had the clutch in, since the bike was still in 1st gear, but this had no effect. The bike wouldn't re-start.

I won't even tell you of the horrors that I had with the inexplicable presence of a car tire on the rear end. Somebody apparently screwed up whilst getting a tire change.

Ugh. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Here is a picture of the bike in its present state.

I think you 've had that sidecar on so long Geek,
you just forgot how a BIKE handles.
and if you ain't ever rode it with the car tire without the sidecar,
I'm sure that was part of the problem.
What air pressure you running?
At 35 mine wanted to go straight no matter how much I fought it.
At 30 its a different machine.
Handles like a dream.

Thats called countersteering and is normal, sidecar has messed you up.

Reminds me of a bike I was following years ago - the rider pulled up to a traffic light, stopped, and slowly keeled over onto the tarmac.

I parked up and ran over - the guy was laughing so hard, pinned under his bike, cos he had just taken his sidecar off, and forgot to put his foot down when he came to a stop.

GL....

IT'S TOO BLOODY DANGEROUS!!! DON'T RIDE IT !!!!!

SELL IT TO ME CHEAP. I'LL SEE IF I CAN DO SOMETHING WITH IT.

I agree with Ruzzle; DANGEROUS!
You probably should part it out to prevent anyone else from getting hurt.
Dibs on the supercharger!

Wow! Thanks guys for looking out for me. That's why I love this site. It's all about the generosity.

Ruzzle, just let me know when you'll be picking this unsafe contraption up.

You really are a life saver.

Rocketandrollit, contact Ruzzle about the supercharger. I doubt he will have any use for it.

Skip, I run with 30 in the 245/50/16 rear tire and love it. I was just joking around ... well ... sort of ... it did actually feel a bit squishy until I got me motorcycle legs back again.

My wife is encouraging me to get another bike that a I can have fun with without having to take off the hack. We are leaning toward a vmax still.

Ck your tire pressures....or you're just used to that parasite being attached to ya to stop you from falling over
