Has anyone done any altering to their Roadster silencers? (Other than replacing.) Any suggestions on removing some of the baffling? I haven't pulled the silencers off yet to see how they are constructed but it looks like the guts are welded at the end of the silencers.?! I will be removing the intake crap and installing pods of some sort. I already have a Dobeck so tuning is not an issue or question.

Thanks guys.

If you go to the .com site look in forums/sticky's/about the sixth one down there are some very detailed cut-a-ways of a stock muffler.

I don't see how you can modify the headers. There is no packing in there, its all in the mufflers. As far as I know, Jardine and Carpenter are your only options for replacing the headers.

I wonder if drilling three or four 1 inch holes in the end would free things up a bit:rolleyes:

TOR's or Staintune silencers will keep the original looks with an improvement in sound but probally only minimal performance, as GPMAZ said a complete new system like Jardines or the Carp Brutes will make any real difference there is how ever now a new system here in Australia but I don't know if it will be in your budget they are $1800 here and you can find more info from Ponters they will probally give the best performance on a std motor because the Carp Brutes are designed for a worked motor, there is such a thing as having to much free flow in your exhaust. The system that Ponters has IS True equal lenght while Carps Brutes and jardines are not

Tors don't sound that great. Staintune's sound nice but only have the 2 pipes on the right which leaves the left side of the bike looking even stranger.

I had to look twice Fred as his avatar says 06 but He is talking about a Roadster which have one pipe each side and Staintunes are almost a look alike to std mufflers only better in looks and sound also I think you are confusing the DD's because my Staintune are same as std pipes as in two on right and one on left but they do make the option of having only two on one side but this is only with the earlier models not roadster or touring

My bad. I saw a Rocket at the bike thing here where I live that had the two pipes on one side. I thought he said they staintunes. They sounded good. Don't care for looks of the left side with no pipe. I did see a picture of one where a guy made an air foil or something that filled in that area. looked a lot better.
