My god I love that bear claw air intake, Where and how much do I have spend on one......

Adam it is a Piper cross filter with a slight modification to bolt onto the base plate which is a road sign and the OEM velocity stacks, here is a couple open shots On the filter you can see mounting ears I removed them and went with nut-serts on the frame of it.
Looks great and is a pretty easy job to make.

OH and at 350 degrees in the oven and you can scrape the reflective sticker stuff of the road sign off. Use oven mitts as the bugger is hot. Oh and throw the mitts away after you get the sticker cleaned off so the wifey does not catch on to what you did in her kitchen

Trust me! I am the VOICE of EXPERIENCE

Thats awesome, any pics of the cover at all, I really like that setup indeed...

If your talking about the bear claw its self

I never took a picture of it just made a template run tape across to protect the chrome and cut it with a jig saw. I can remove it and take a picture. I never did because it was a used bear claw and I thought I would screw it up the first time cutting it. But they cut easily. It still has the three mounts the OEM one uses so it bolts up quickly.
Above is a shot with the rain protector on it. I can add the protector without taking the claw off so I just carry it in the bags until I run into a down poor bad enough to need it.
You do have to move the Radiator overflow bottle. I just grabbed one from the local hot rod store and machined the aluminum mount on the crash bar to support it.

So what is the one in post 16, looks like some sort of ram air looking thing, looks real nice, love that big filter your using, does it give you much noise at all?

Oh you mean this one

it was made by the late Gman it came with the bike its a little ruff up close pictures make it look better this one was when it was a lot newer. Gary worked hard testing and making it. He was trying to gather cool air from up front of the radiator. I wish I was good with fiber glass so I could develop one of the same shape. I doubt it breathes enough for high horse power but can also see ways of improving the filtration size.

Thats the animal, love it, like you said little bit of work and bam that would be awesome, Ive been toying with the idea of making something that uses the stock throttle body rubbers.
