My bearclaw is loose.I moved the brackets for the captive nuts around and it improved it but its coming loose again.
It doesnt seem to want to sit in the rubber slots.
Anyone know of a permanent fix?

I've posted about this particular issue with the Bearclaw in the past. That middle tab on the claw that connects to the tab on the fuel tank; is the WORST designed piece of garbage fastener I've ever run into.

For such a magnificent bike, the Brits designed some really strange parts to it. I guess that comes from driving on the wrong side of the road over there....

I took the middle bracket off to fit triple K & N's. The only issue is getting the two bolts tight enough to prevent the cover vibrating. I've been thinking about putting a chrome edge strip over the cover's top to prevent paint damage. Otherwise, you don't need that center bracket.

..after I took mine off the first time, I was never able to get it back on the center tabs......ever.....that design is to encourage you to do the triple filter mod, get a carbon fibre half claw from dublflush and gently wrap your original bear claw up in a soft towel, only to put it away on the far back of a storage shelf, never to rear it's ugly head again..

VIOLENCE - Mine's such a ruddy tight fit I doubt it will come off unaided. But a half claw is beginning to sound good.

I think it's time to follow evilbob's advice. I am going to learn to "do" carbon fibre.

Easy enuff to fit the OE claw on K&N's... just remove the bracket that sits by your knee, & refit with a nut as a spacer ( pushes it out a few mm from the tank.)
When refitting the claw, loosely fasten the frount bolt, position the middle tank bracket, push ( there's a slight flex) the rear of the claw into position & insert fixing bolt. tighten both ends whilst applying a little upward pressure to stop it popping off the middle tank bracket.
