That's true. However, the OEM cables should last almost indefinitely with the exception of the clutch cable which tends to fray at the lower end on ocassion. At that time, a good consideration would be a good aftermarket cable like Barnett. One thing I notice on the OEM cable ends is the ****ty ferrules. They look like a drunk installed them.
I'm not a big fan of teflon lined cables. Normal, less expensive hard nylon liners are just as good, with the addition of a graphite based lubricant ocassionally applied with a pressure cable luber.
