Does anyone know what the difference is between the two backrests available for the triumph sissybar? Part #9701144 and 9701145 I believe. Is one more comfortable than the other?

I've had both and the larger one from the classic is curved and much more comfortable. It's a bit darker too, to match the Classic seat. The pads are interchaneable on the sissy bar.

I haven't looked at the Triumph parts site lately, but used to be a standard and a gell pad available. Got my sissy bar used as a matched set with a gell seat and pillion. Sold the gell seat and pillion so still have a gell back rest pad. As far as I know, it's the same size as the regular version, but they probably don't even sell those any longer.

Update.... I did look at the site for you, the 44 part number matches the standard stock seat stuffing, and the 45 part number is the touring gell material. Looks like they do still sell the jelly version.

Thanks hellfire, I was wondering what the difference was. I think I will go with the gel.
If you have the money to spend, there is an emblem that goes on the back of the sissy bar. Personally I like it and was a must have. Makes the plain chrome back look lots better.

Money is a little tight right now. I got a new baby at home and my wife recently quit working. I was thinking the emblem would be extra. I may try and get one or come up with something else.

Nope, the emblem doesn't come with the back rest. I ended up buying a emblem for the saddlebags off of Ebay. I had to cut two tabs off the back with my dremel, then just used 3M tape to put it on the back rest. It does look much better than just a blank square area..
