That's settled then - it's the spider web removal adapter plug 
I think it's just another auxillary plug, not a diagnostic. There are only two wires going to it so maybe it's typical Triumph thing where they forgot what to do with it.... 8)

Well . . . . . . it's clearly NOT plugged in so I don't know how it is expected to work!!
