ANYONE RUN NITROUS???

bomb is a good word
once it was perfected it worked good for years.
its sort like a good woman you treat her with respect and take care of her and she's good to you.
you just try not to be there when she goes off.

Now I understand!!!

So for the part about how to activate it, use a few switches.

First switch = on when gear = 3, 4, 5.
Second switch = on when TPS > 90%

That way you can keep it easily under control and only have nitrous when you are sure you want it

EDIT: There is no reason for it be a bomb. Use a progressive wet kit limited to a 60 hp gain. Run 1 step colder plugs and only 91 octane fuel. Shouldn't cause too much issue over time.

The reason nitrous = bomb, and so many nitrous motors die is people who have no clue what they are doing running big dry kits with no supporting mods usually, or going for 200-300+ shots on motors.

Last Tuesday I spoke to my tuner about this. He likes the idea, saying he has done many bikes. He recommends keeping my PCV on board and routing it through the start button for an automatic map change and use at WFO throttle. Says likely 180 to 200 horsies at WFO.

Go on give the Falcon a bit of a laugh - What does a 450bhp R3 do when given nitrous oxide I wonder - Oh and nitro-methane too - naturally.

I must admit I did think about adding a two stage alcohol injection system but instead of using a water alcohol nitro-methane injection to her. But I figured she has more power then I need anyway so if I want more I will just turn the boost up or try one of the newer two speed blower units they make. If I had money to piss away I would experiment a little more but I do not so getting the most out of what I have without breaking her is the direction I will go for now!!!
If I did not have the blower and wanted to add NOS I would add a vampire unit to her. Nos can create detonation so having the vampire unit would be a must IMO. The unit I have can alter timing verses boost pressure or when adding NOS not to mention if the sonar sensor detect detonation.

The OEM pistons will not last long especially if she detonates and breaks the top ring land. Believe me them rings can carve up the nickel-seal plating on the cylinder liners. From what I have seen when it comes to testing reaction times on 02 sensors and electronic units that go with them the PCV reaction time is the slowest. I hope they improve on it especially for the ones using the auto tune unit. Now of course I am not sure if the added 5 volt pick up is slow as the other reports because it was not mentioned. But I believe it would be what you would use to add the fuel when the NOS is triggered. I am not sure if you could find a pressure switch that would send graduated amount of voltage but with NOS you might not need that finite of a control just a on and off signal to turn the fuel adder on. I am just rambling thoughts so do not hold me to it as I am not a expert and would have to do some more research especially if you want to install a multiple stage unit.

IMO by the time your done with it and your wallet you would be better off just adding the HP with pistons and cams. Like what Carpenter Racing or Neville Lush racing does. Its just much safer and consistent on the motor.

@warp9.9
Well said, Amigo and thanks for taking the time to flatulently respond.
Me thinks I shall follow your advice and that of the others here and pass on this until I can do the Carpenter.
My issue regarding Carpenter is one of distance to NJ and time spent there waiting.
