Anyone have OnStar on their GM Vehicle?

I have it on my HHR. I like it. However, it expires in October. It'll be $200 to re-new if I go with the same plan (Safe & Sound) and $300 if I go with the Directions & Connections plan (adds Turn by Turn Navigation and a couple of other features).

Does anyone have that plan? Do you like the T by T?

Some of the things I like about OnStar:

- Hands Free Calling (in car phone)
- Automatic lock-out
- Auto theft recovery
- Monthly (or on demand) diagnostic reports
- Auto airbag deployment notification (they try to contact you if the bags go off)

Etc.... There's a myriad of stuff.

Anyhow, I trying to decide if it's all worth $300 or if I would be better off buying a GPS (can get one for $130 with text to speech feature) and simply not getting future diagnostic reports, etc...

They can track you vehicle also if it is stolen correct?

yep they can trac it and i think they can shut it down as well. can they tell how fast your going? are we going to start getting speeding tickets in the mail now?

Yes, they track a lot of stuff, including average daily mileage by month, tire pressure, oil life, etc...
