Any quickshifter tips??

I wonder if you could jack it up so the back wheel is off the ground & do it that way? I'd say it'd work, but 10 sec in 6th gear on a stand . . . maybe not eh.

The attached was posted by another member who got it from a Triumph Tech dude. It 100% works every time if you follow the procedure & it's quick to do. Just ride somewhere using every gear for at least 10 seconds. After you've done 10 sec in 6th the TSA is all go again.

Thanks for the reply...I did a little research after I asked the question and stumbled on that information. It seems simple enough to do. I find it interesting that Triumph didn't include that kind of information in the installation sheets that came with the quickshifter. It would have been nice to know in case there was a issue. Then again, some people say they didn't have the issue after unhooking the battery.

It would be a YouTube moment for sure and probably not good for the internals at all with no road to push back.

for the folks that have the Triumph QS installed - I could use some guidance. Got the QS installed. About half the time, it works as expected. But the rest of the time, I can't seem to get it to shift up or down (I don't use it from N to 1, or 1 to 2 - or the other way around). The lever just doesn't want to move. I've tried it while being at constant speed or accelerating/decelerating - I can't seem to get it right. The times that it works, it works smooth!

(edit: happens rarely, but sometimes it jerks when I go from 2 to 3 without clutch)

Is it a user error? (am I doing something wrong) - or is it an install issue - in which case I can take it back to the dealership for them to look into it.

Has it been enabled by the dealer? as in did a dealer do the install? If yes, just check on your TFT screen that TSA is enabled there, that would account for the erroneous shifts. I can't remember which menu it's under, probably bike setup. Have a look n check that bit.
If it is enabled there as well, there is a learning adaption that can be done but you'll need a dealer tool or a dedicated Triumph scan tool for that. The TSA is super smooth up & down when it's working properly, sounds to me like yours is not enabled on the TFT though & you're just no clutch shifting, causing a rough shift or a no shift sometimes.

Yep - dealership did the install, and it is enabled in the menu.
To confirm, when attempting to upshift, stay on the throttle while upshifting. Before downshifting, roll off the throttle.

If that is right, I will take it back to the dealership this weekend.

Yes, that's the right way. Upshift is from neutral throttle to power on & downshift is neutral throttle to closed throttle. Pretty sure it's in the OM too.

I've found just shifting with the same amount of throttle / acceleration she changes up sweet & smooth. For downshift I have the throttle closed, but it'll do it at neutral throttle as well.

You can hook up another power source if you know you are going to be removing the battery but if you get the wires shorted then it will.blow a fuse.

You should be able to back feed the 12V System via a 12V Phone Charger Plug and or other 12V accessory plug.

Sounds like an issue for the dealer since they did the install. I probably won't have that option, as I did the actual installation myself. The distance and setup instructions were quite specific and I followed them to the letter. I am real anal about wire routing and lead dress, so I didn't trust my dealer to take the time to do it properly. I actually looped the wire forward a bit and then back under the body of the device using ties to hold it firmly in place. On my GT the wire sets forward and on the R the wire routes straight out of the back. I made a guide further back that the wire could slide through to keep things from hanging down or moving around and out of the way. In my mind, I could see that the wire might rub on something or have excessive movement over time breaking the wires inside the cable. I then took it to the dealer for activation and final setup. They charged me $85 to do the activation. Mine seems to work well with no issues. Sounds like you might have a defective unit or some binding around the control unit. I assume the actuator is some sort of solenoid or momentarily contact unit.
