in the accident you mention a car hit the rear steel door of my enclosed trailer (horse trailer) it crashed into a steel square tube that did not bend the rear end damage was just a bent rear fender and a cracked red lens caused by the ramp touching the rear wheel . no damages in any way to the wheel ,that was ascertained by a mechanic sent by the insurance . it was rather obvious just to look at it but .......hey I did not even think of that but you did !! sharp memory!!
this spacer problem is annoying because i do not have the original spacer ,if I had at least I would know that what goes out must fit back in .period. and I do not think the swing arm would narrow itself at the wheel end when a wheel is removed that is why I did not force the swingarm open to try to fit the brake mount I am shy of 3 mm which is about the thickness of the mount boss and I tried to make sure the clips and rubber inside the wheel were in their place I even followed UGARTE advice and placed some plywood ring on the face of the spacer and the swingarm with a center hole for the spindle to pass through and gently torqued the flanged nut nothing moved so I have to assume the inside are in place and I measured the distance between the drive cover's edge and the raised lip of the wheel on the left side and checked a new roadster wheel at the dealer same measurement so the wheel is fully seated in the drive !!!!!!
wednesday the bike goes to the dealer we will have an answer ...maybe.. I will insist to be present when they take a crack at it
