2011 R3T- Jardines / RamAir / PCV/AT
I ordered my Jardine exhaust last week, just sent an e-mail to Flip to order the triple K&N filter set. And now I am not sure what to do. I have been reading here and on the other sites for over a year now and while I knew that Jardines and triple filters were what I want
Now I am not sure how to continue....

If I am going to spend the money I guess I want the most bang for the dollar.

I am looking for opinions from those who have gone before me...

I have TuneEcu map 20366 (Rocket III Touring, Jardines, 3 K&N's, Secondaries 100%, Rev limit 6500rpm, Speed limit 250kmh, HP=138, Torque=150) that I am planning on using for a starting point.

When I compare this map to the stock map that came on my '11 R3T the ignition tables are the same.
So do I need a GiPro? or Over write the first 3 ignition tables with the 4th ? OR..do nothing?

Using this map as starting point would you just get the bike dyno'd and be done, or put on the PCV or PCV /w autotune?

What would you do if you were going to do it or do it again....
Winter is on the downhill slide so I am hoping to pull the bike out of storage this week and start the build...
Thanks Curt

Who developed that tune? If it was Wayne Tripp, I'd say you're off to a great start. If you have access to a dyno and someone knowledgeable with TuneECU you can tweak it further. If you want the best possible results, take a ride south to Wayne's shop.

You don't need a GiPro.

Tom-Hamburg pointed the tune out to me, it was BruceD's tune.
It does not say who created it, only that it was 140Hp+ Torque at 154+
But that will be my start.

Indeed it begins Curt. Congratulations! And brace yourself. :D I recall you were a little in 2 minds about getting the R3T over the Roadster. These changes should satisfy you. I'm not best placed to advise on the tuning route but I'm sure you'll get plenty of opinions and options from others.

Thank you! and your right I was more then a little disappointed in the R3T and I made myself wait thru the first year before making any changes... The temps are creeping up, what little snow we have had is melting.... 50 degrees is close at hand so it is time....

I can not wait.. going from 85 +/- hp to 140 +/-... I'll be giggling like a school girl on her first date....

I brought the bike into the heated garage today and started prepping. The K&N filters from Flip should be here in the morning....

Not sure yet what to do with the overflow bottle. The seats on the Touring models have to be unbolted to be removed so putting the bottle in the old air filter box would be kind of a pain to check, but being there is no room under either side cover it may come down to that or leaving it in place...
Any suggestions ?

Secondaries are removed.

The exhaust is off waiting for the Jardines to arrive on Saturday.

Have a lot of cleaning to do too... :D

Get yourself a Corbin seat. It replaces the mounting bolts with a keyed release. Then the airbox mounted overflow bottle is easily accessible.

Before the Corbin I probably had my seat off every week or so. Either to check the bottle (hasn't needed fluid yet) or to fiddle with something electrical. I have a fuse block mounted to the airbox as well. You're right, it is a bit of a pain.

I'm in the same boat as you bonecarver. Just ordered my Jardines a couple of days ago and have the triples + PCV waiting in the garage to be put on.

I also ordered Flip's paddock stand yesterday to make my job easier + will help with the oil change + putting on the Progressives which are also sitting in the garage.

I went the PCV route b/c I'm not all that knowledgeable about tuning and its what the folks with the dynos work with as opposd to Tune ECU or Tuneboy (at least here in B.C.).

I'm going to install the Jars, triples + PCV and then take it to a professional dyno to make sure it is tweaked as good as it can get. Once I have my base tune than I may get Autotune and mess around with it a bit.

Super excited and cannot wait to take the Rocket to the next level!

Curt, I love it that you've "got your pants down and ready". I moved my overflow to under the seat and put a Stebel horn in its place under the bear claw. Must be a real pain having to un-bolt the seat on the T but I'd be inclined to put it there anyway.

I would but I really like the seat/back rest that came on the bike and it just does not seem like enough of a reason to buy another seat... If I did not like the seat on the bike that is what I would be doing... I ran from Daytona to Mid North Carolina last year before I felt like I needed to get off the bike, thought that was good for a stock seat..

Johnny.
I'm doing the same thing. Jars, Triple filters, PCV, and Dyno. I called the dealer today here in town being I am not going to make bike week this year so my plans to take it to Wayne are not going to work out.
Cool Stuff !!!

I'm like a kid on Christmas eve, had to do something to take the edge off so I thought I would at least be ready when the boxes show up... I am leaning towards putting the bottle under the seat. I went all year last year and never had to add anything to it. I did find some some nice bottles that Wayne posted a link to that may not look too bad up under the tank, but I am going to wait to see what the bear claw ends up looking like.... Flip has something coming for dressing up the bear claws....
