It's quite simple really be it fast or steady, just ride within your own ability
don't let the adrenalin demon take over
& live to enjoy your own pace for a lot longer.
I think I might take a few more chances knowing if everything runs as it should with al that power available the risks are minimalist .i say twist that throttle and enjoy the beast once you've got some experience under your belt . If the bike scares ya sell it.
Can honestly say my Rocket has never 'scared me' .. reason that I bought one was for the torque and high speed stability. Was riding a 2007 Dyna trying to keep up with blokes riding Rockets and V-Rods .. that was scary. Hit a pothole or a rut in the road at 180, 200 kph on a Dyna and you'll know all about scary !!!

That adrenalin demon your talkin about its half the reason I ride these things . The rush of doing a high speed run where you shouldn't ,the brutal acceleration. I've got another bike if I wanna ***** foot around
That feeling is a healthy one, it will keep you alive, just don't let it rule when unneccessarily! I regularily hit 100+ on my R3, especially now I have a flyscreen fitted!! And I do try to take on the twisties a little too aggressively sometimes forgetting how big a bike it is.
One thing I have to watch out for is slowing early enough for corners, the stopping power on the heavy rocket isn't anything like my SM-T so a few times now I've found I am hammering on the brakes with ABS sometimes kicking in trying to slow down for a sharp left/right hander. That's the issue I am now noticing with having more than one bike, you need to remember which one you're riding!!
But I do ALL this on roads where there is no other traffic / road junctions near me! I wouldn't dream of hitting the high speeds with a big speed differential between me and others, that's asking for trouble!
