Looks good Rusty. I'm looking forward to our next visit and a test of those fancy Italian horns. Nice pictures and description of install. Looks pretty straight forward.
I'm trying to figure out where to mount my "Deutschland uber alas" horns.Thought it a good way to get folks to stand at attention when I pass.
I posted pictures on mounting italian ferraris style air horns some time ago FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO HIDE SOMEHOW THE HORNS compressor behing the original location and horns under the rad facing sideways from center facing out. out of sight and protected from rain as well, clean , subdued but LOUD !!

Installed a Stebel Nautalus into the unused airbox, cut an opening so it blasts freely from the centre of the bike, sweet sound and loud. Asked the wife into to garage to show her what I had been doing, didn't think she would hit me after pressing the horn button, was great for a laugh, well worth it. I said all should hear me, will be looking around for a truck. She thinks it might make some old lady die at the wheel after hearing it, well better than me getting run down I say!!

They draw somewhere around 17 or 18 amps....a 20A fuse is what you need. I always carry a spare just in case.

you always want to install a relay for this type of accessory with the horn button as a trigger and the power source directly from the battery....and also want to carry a spare fuse since this is such an important safety item...

If it was to be placed under the headlights behind the embellishment where the original sits at present, does it still need a relay as it will just be plugged into the original power source?

YES....using the factory wiring is a recipe for disaster. Recommend the Eastern Beaver Stebel horn installation wiring. You can use the original horn wires for the relay trigger ONLY.

Yes it does, and the stock horn is triggered via the ground wire. You will need to take your power from your battery and supply a good ground as well.
