Ah, the benefits of riding to work.

Yeah there are definitely more people here than I care to deal with but I manage to keep my sanity by taking the rocket out towards Mt Rainier to conduct a few acceleration tests. Yes that's a Heritage next to me. I give him a lot of crap but he's a good guy

Probably seeing some of the phenomenon that's affecting California; there was research done some years ago that concluded that if and when the arctic starts seriously melting, California and the west coast would see a dramatic drop in rains etc. Well, here we are now. The jet stream has also started meandering a lot, which is why the east coast now gets a ton of snow dumped on them some years - cold pushes down from the north, and on the west coast warmth pushes up from the south.

Pretty interesting considering we're still at a mere +1 degree global warming, the climate change from that alone is noticeable.

As for disc brake locks, I'm a big fan of ABUS, their top of the line alarmed model costs a minor fortune but it's a sturdy piece of kit.

@RocketRoy I have the Ironrider like yours and it works great for my road trips. Only issue I had was leaving Sturgis last August and even with the rain cover on, everything got soaked. Of course that was almost all day riding is very hard rain. Have you had any issues with yours?

Which model of that bag do you have. I have the Kuryakyn in a sissybar bag that works well but I am looking for a second bag for longer trips just to have the extra room. I know my sissy bar bag will sit on the seat or the rack so I could mount that Ironrider to the luggage rack. Al

I haven't had any problems with it but I also haven't been caught in heavy rain. It's been fine in the occasional shower or two but I never trusted the rain cover anyway. It's like a tent that keeps you dry until you touch the inside of the wall and you're wet . My only real complaint is the main compartment could be expandable rather than the side pockets but I do like the strap loops that allow you to stack more bags on top. Other than that it's been a very durable bag.
 
I have an older version of this killer Kuryakyn bag. Mine's called the Full Dresser Model 4140 and it is also wheeled and expandable. This bag creates less windage than many with equivalent capacity. Enjoy the video tour!
