Is there a simple procedure for checking the cam chain tensioner for the correct tension? My 2007 R3 (17,500 miles) has started making a sound at the 2100 to 2300 rpm range that just seems to make me think cam chain? I have heard the infamous paintcan rattle sound bite posted here, and though mine is simular, it is not the same. Take the paintcan rattle and submerge it underwater, and thats kinda what I hear? It does it hot or cold, in any gear at that range, yet I can't get it to make the darn sound unless it is in gear though? Since it has to be in gear, I can't reproduce it in the garage for sound recording purposes.

Need a "How To" on cam chain adjustment.

It's self adjusting. Don't pop the tensioner out. It will release tension on the chain which could allow the cams to rotate or the cam chain could drop off the bottom of the crank gear. Otherwise you need to take off the radiator and pop the front case cover off.

I read on the .net site that Triumph is saying that the oil pump makes a similar sound and that it causes no harm.
