Anyone have any insight into resetting the adaption ?

When I first loaded a new tune a couple of weeks ago it took several times of resetting the adaption, and I do not remember how many 12 min tunes to get finally have the little green light saying the TPS was set.

I changed the idle on the tune and reloaded it several days ago.
I have not been able to get the adaption to take since then.

I have done the 12 min tune from a cold start 4 or 5 times.
I have done the reset adaption several times. with the bike warm, and a couple times cold just outta desperation.

Also since I was messing things up anyway I decided to balance the throttles which was pretty easy with the instructions.
I looked at the voltage on the TPS and it is flashing between .59 and .60 when forcing the throttle closed. but only reading .69 to .70 when forcing the throttle open. I believe this reading is suppose to be higher, but would this keep the TPS adaption from taking?

I have no errors on the ECU, I am using TuneEcu, also have the PCV/Auto tune.
Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Curt

I spent some time reading the service manual today about resetting the adaptives and also I adjusted the TPS so the readings were spot on. .60v closed .72v open.

Still I am not getting the closed throttle position to be adapted. The manual reads that the 12 minute tune needs to be started from a cold engine so I only did it 3 or 4 times today.

It also states an alternative to the 12 minute tune is with the bike running and at operating temp, click on the reset adaption and this will force a fast adaption of settings in about 5 seconds.
For this to happen, the engine MUST be running, it must be at normal operating
temperature and In closed loop control mode.

Under any other conditions fast adaptlon will not take place and may cause default values to be loaded, which may then require a normal 12 minute adaption routine to be run.

My question now is I have the o2 sensor unchecked which I believe means the system is in an open loop, could this be why I am not getting the TPS to be adapted?

Any ideas?

did ypu guys do the turn on turn off ignition 2 times counting to 10 or what ever it is after your tune is downloaded then you set the adaption i believe is what i did. it took me 2 times to get mine right. there is a video on you tube with a guy changing his tune and setting his adaption with keyswich on a speed triple, just puch in tune ecu triumph and it smould come up hope this helps:cool:

Correct me if I am wrong but when you put the PCV +AT on you are also fitting the O2 sensor eliminator plug into the wiring this is to fool the ECU that it is still connected to the O2 sensor I have mine Checked in TuneECU and have no problems. I hope this helps:)

SO Hans your saying you have a check in the box for the o2 sensor in Tune Ecu even though the o2 sensor is connected to the PCV/AT ?
I have it unchecked, thinking I did not want the ECU making any changes to the tune I put in the bike.

I have been doing the Key off... Back on for 10/12 seconds.... back off... back on...

I have tried about everything but chanting while swinging a black cat over overhead... waiting for a full moon for that one... ;)
Just frustrating not getting that little green light to come back on....

Here is the video

TuneECU (free TuneBoy) software demo on Triumph Tiger 1050 SE - YouTube

The good stuff starts around 8:00 of the video. I use this video to remind me how to do it. My bikes temp got up to 105C , still no green box, so I disconnected.

I've done this atleast 20 times and never had this problem!!!!

Glad you're here Hanso

I have the O2 sensor eliminator on my bike. For some reason my bike has started running rough. When I first crank it up it spits and sputters, with black smoke (running rich). Then after about 10 minutes it clears up, idles smoothly. Then when I shut it off and crank it back up it starts all over again!!!

Yeah The Eliminater is there so the ECU doesn't throw Error at you, the Auto tune is using the O2 sensor (wide range) to monitor the gases. by having the ECU thinking it is still connected because the eliminater is fooling it, have you tried using someone elses TuneECU cable just incase you are haveing a problem there, there has been a report or two of faulty cables

remind me what your set up is and tune you are running, I had it happena while back and just had to reduce the fuel by 10% in that area on the L tables

He is running a modified version of 200355 for the roadster Hanso for triple filters aftermarket exhaust secondarys 100percent open and ignition tables copied from higher gears.

find it strange that he has been running it succesfully for sometime and now problems im wondering if there is a problem elswhere
