Actual Rocket Weight...

On the BST website, Walt/Hombre claims his stripped bike weight 660 lbs, which seems like it has to be a dry weight to me.

While he has removed a lot of weight (just like me) my guess is my bike will weigh in at 750 +/- lbs wet with a single Jardine, BST rims (pending arrival), and CF front fender.

Wet weight of a 2005 Rocket is 804 lbs (empty cat box). He also added the supercharger. He must be referring to it's "dry weight," unless my bike is a lot lighter than I think it is...?

Anyone actually weigh one of these things...? Wayne?

660 does sound extra skinny even for Hombre's machine. He probably forgot to add in some measure or it is dry weight. Losing 140 pounds is A LOT. Losing stock exhaust and foot controls would probably account for around 30-some pounds. He's got CF fenders and rims, maybe side panels, cut up bearclaw, and lower profile tires but not much else for weight savings. All that stuff can't be giving more than 40 pounds savings. Plus his supercharger, IC, bubble faring and lockup clutch add more weight, maybe on the order of 15 pounds extra.

I think your estimate for wet is pretty accurate.

but owner s manual states 704 dry weight.
From what I can see in pictures
Hombres bike has both side cover panels cf ,also back & front fenders cf , smaller head lights, radiator shell removed , guards on forks
a single super trapp muffler , believe shaft et was removed
from TB 'S and plugged , Nev clutch could be lighter , not sure what else.
BUT does have added weight of IC & SC
Hell just the amount of AIR that thing huff's should make it lighter :lol:

We don't know what added goodies TRIUMPH weighed bike
in at .
EX : any extra gauges, was passenger seat attached or removed ,
were brackets on for windshield attachment etc etc .

PS: From what I know about roadside interstate truck scales
because we had 6 sets of truck scale average 900 , 18 wheeler trucks per
day where I worked , that were calibrated once a month
ALL were 20# off before they would click over to the next correct weight
+or - 19 # .
I tested by adding a known weight then added metal weights in a 5 gallon bucket .
Not sure how he got weight
So if Hombre did a truck scale weigh- in its possible could be # 20 off

I forgot Hombre removed stock lights.

Lockup clutch assembly is definitely heavier than stock pressure plate. I just got mine yesterday and it's a few pieces of heavy duty billet. Stock pressure plate is just one piece, cast and machined aluminum.

If Hombre is at 660 wet, he only needs lose another 80 or so pounds to be in wet range of stock heavy weight sport bikes, like the busa and ZX14... yeah, only 80 pounds. :lol:

He might fill up with a mix of helium.

It weighs 804 pounds because that is what I swore to under threat of prosecution for perjury when I changed the title from Florida to Washington. I had just read the weight in the owner's manual and it was a question on the Washington title application when I went in later that morning. They had no information in their system on Rockets. So if any of you guys get a letter from the Washington DMV checking up on me, that must be your story....

I think it would be easier to shed weight of my fat ass the the Rocket. If you want to know what yours weighs, you should be able to find a business close to you with commercial scales, farmers market, truck stop, scrap yard or something like that. Might charge you a couple of bucks but you would have your answer. I'm sure with all the crap I've bolted on mine it's a lot heavier than when I got it.

when i took mine to the dyno drags in sturgis it wieghed in at 1138 with me on it about a 1/2 tank of gas i have rivco crash bars & highway pegs. with me at 320 lbs that puts the bike at 818 a far cry from 660. by the way I ran 10.23 @ 124.5

Spike weights 735 Lbs whith 3 gals. gas. On wyo DOT certified scales..If that helps anyone..Jack :lol: :lol:
