Hi from the Central West of NSW, Australia. I have had the Rocket for five years. I'm on the Darkside. Crossed Australia West to East twice, South to North once and (counting the South, North trip) been to Central Australia (Alice Springs) twice, including the mandatory side trip to Ayers Rock. Almost running out of long roads but really can't help myself. Only mods are Custom exhaust - single dumper with a empty round chamber where the cat was (so I don't get booked) by Denis Foran, custom dual seat and Tee bars, footboards, Secdom fairing for comfort. Hepco & Becker hard bags compensate for over packing.
Currently fitting a RamAir Pod and want to get rid of the Air Box, so I need to look at alternative electrical mounts under the seat. The bit that has me a bit stumped is the Barometric Pressure Sensor. I'm thinking of putting it in a little open plastic box and leaving it where it is - out of the wind etc. Anyway have been watching the forum for a while and enjoyed some of the problem solving but thought it was about time I gave a bit back. I also have a shed full of "projects" TR1 from Japan, XV1000 midnight Special, Mark II Z1000 and BMWR100RT - I think I have a thing about the decade I wasn't riding so have the bikes I would have had. The Rocket is big, seductive, satisfying and honestly the best bike I have ever ridden. Totally different but I have walked past a Black Shadow to ride it! I bought the bike damaged with 230k on it after the original owner came off (alledgedly locked diff - fixed by Triumph) on the day he bought it. It was parked in a shed for five years - damaged and sad. Its been to a Bike Shop once at 20000k, now nearly 60000 and runs like a clock! Pretty bloody fast clock though!!
