can i use the gi-pro DS or does it have to be the gi-pro with ATRE for my rocket roadster?
where would i buy it?
thanks

I organized a group buy for the GI Pro with ATRE last year.

The DS model works with 2004-2010 Rockets according to the mfr., Healtech's, site.
However, aside from the small price difference between it and the ATRE model, why would you opt for the lesser of the two models.

The Advanced Timing Retardation Eliminator unit will, as an option, defeat the timing retardation build in at the factory for gears 1, 1&2,or 1-3, providing the same effect as you would get by removing the throttle body secondaries, i.e., a whole lot more giddyup in gears 1-3. If you are planning to do other mods like pulling out the secondaries triple K&Ns, TuneBoy or other computer, cat delete, etc., then that work would render the ATRE feature moot and the DS modle would be the one for you.

You can reference this site to get the other info you need or want: Cal-Sportbike Distribution ::: GIPro w/ATRE by HealTech Electronics

It also has a link to Healtech's site which has dealer info on it.

The DS series does not have the ATRE feature (Advanced Timing Retard Eliminator), so even though it may plug into the late model Triumph's more easily ... it is just a Gear Position Indicator. Later model R3's like the Roaster already have a gear indicator built in, but still come out of the box with the same factory training wheels as all prior Rocket's. So the model of choice is still the same old GiPro w/ATRE in your choice of color.

There IS a difference during the installation ... the Roadster has the same three wire GPS as the Touring which takes an extra step vs the older Standard and Classic two wire GPS. DanDiego posted his experiences with his three wire Touring, and another member posted his experiences installing one on a Roaster along with the quirk of now having the stock indicator display the gear the ECM now "thinks" it's in and the GiPro displays the actual transmission gear position.

FYI, the GiPro w/ATRE has no direct effect on the throttle bodies secondary throttle plates (butterfly's), other than making the ECM controlling them believe it's in another gear which may have a fuel map that operates them at more or less percentage of restriction than the actual gear it's in depending on what setting the GiPro is operating. So just removing them all together might be preferable to relying on the ECM and it's programed settings. I found that even if the plates are opened 100% when the throttle is wide open, they don't respond with the same speed and crispness as my own wrist.

So I suggest if it's the ATRE function you want, that you look back at those prior examples and follow their handy findings.

i bought the one with ATRE.
just picked up my roadster and its going straight to my mechanic to install the tors, crossover pipe, filters, remove secondaries, gipro, and tuning.

By the look of that it already has TORs on it mate.

And all that other stuff can be done yourself. I've done about 5 mods, most of the ones you just mentioned except for the secondaries which I'll do next week, over the last 2 weeks. And that was from guides on this and Triumphrats websites. The only way to know your bike inside and out is to tinker around I reckon.

And now I've had all the covers and tank and exhaust and everything else off it, I know exactly how it works inside and out.

Great looking machine BTW, that Matt Black is amazing.

Have fun.
