@R3Tex, Morris, take a look at this guy's idea for the perfect 48 state Road trip...
http://shareably.net/perfect-road-trip-map/
Wow that is some map but seems to miss one bit I particularly liked and that was the North Carolina Maggie Valley area, also the leg between Albuquerque and Flagstaff was some of the most scenic desert with the Messa's and the little mud brick villages built into the side of them

Yes, I am partial to Maggie Valley. Also a ride on M22 and up to the Sleeping Bear Sand dunes. Then up through the UP to
Copper Harbor.

I just saw that and figured it could be a start. it has a lot more interstate travel than most of us want to do as well but several smaller hyways are close enough to use as a guide in most areas. Anyway, it's an idea to consider and toss about.

Think I mentioned this before, but I will volunteer to escort the Vegas to Pacific Northwest leg.
AND . . .
I shall provide a kick ass live band for a no host food and drinks party the evening we arrive here!

if I may chime in !! from vancouver back into the state at coutts border crossing . south of lethbridge .
you have a northeast leg goingfrom van to jasper ( long but nice ) but from calgary to the border it is a flat boring ride to coutts border crossing unless you take the saint mary crossing and ride the "going to the sun climb"
