A Brief Unequal Contest

I am now the proud owner of a second HD...I bought a CVO Softail Breakout last weekend as a project bike and I like some, though not all, of the HD designs. I now have three bikes and they all serve a different purpose. The Rocket is my baby and when I'm by myself I ride it like I stole it. The HD Ultra is our highway machine and if there is a long range trip with the missus we will be on the ultra. The new one will be a machine for around town and may end up being a show bike...haven't decided yet. I would never challenge a Rocket with either of the other two. I have spanked several HD's but showed no malice...as a matter of fact I usually try to warn them before hand that they really don't want to do this, but if they insist I try not to embarrass them any more than absolutely necessary.

Had not considered it, but perhaps the one in exile has hit upon the answer. The old "girl friend reach around" can definitely cause a gentleman's hand (and other appendages) to twitch. It may well be that the little cutie was the cause of what otherwise seemed a foolhardy act. Perhaps we completely misinterpreted the fellow's intent/action. Alas, it is too late to seek clarification, apologize or commend either him or her.

We trudge on.

Stick with the baggers for the sport bikes would kick our arse.

In the long run, yes, but the initial torque is awesome, I think my Rocket could beat my Sprint for the first 100-200 feet, but then, yes, the Sprint will eventually walk away from it. Maybe after the Carpenter kit...

Well, here's a good one. EVERYTIME I come up behind a cruiser, or two, doing the speed limit, I swear, my Rocket keeps speeding up, until I just have to go by. It's like it has it's own mind. And of course it's hard to not let off the throttle until their headlights are just little dots in your mirrors!

On the one hand I think you are really f'ing immature and on the other hand I'm glad I'm not the only one....

At 60 I still can't refuse a chance to spank another bike. Especially a Harley bagger. I've not run a Busa, or a ZX14R, or any liter bike like those. But I would try it,,,.

I used to frequent the Busa forums they think the Rocket is a bagger. Can Rocket III take a 'Busa? - Page 2 I'm getting too old and heavy to ride my Busa like i used to. I haven't got the heart to sell her, my mind says go for it my body says "what are you thinking" I do take it out on occasion, after downing three advil . FYI... your not going to beat a Busa she'll gobble you up and spit you out. If your willing to dish out $12K i'll put you in the running..

A 1200cc Sportster will NOT out run a Rocket. They are just not that fast. The guy in the Busa 500HP video is looking to die riding like that! Crazy!
