Ok so I have finally reached the end of the internet while convalescing with my broken foot. I came across Indian Motorcycles new website as they are at it again. This time though a chief will cost $30,000-35,000 and a jacket will cost up to $2,500 U.S.
I'd have to be a Hamster aka a "RUB" to indulge in such aquisitions.
Anybody want to start a Poll as to how long this Indian will remain solvent? Will it go under before one of the "Big 3" GM, Chrysler or Ford get bought out?

Indian Motorcycle Home

Don't forget to reserve your Chief by filling out the form and sending them $1,000 deposit!

I believe the Indians are only built to order, so they don't have to sell a bunch of them. The idea is they will be like jewelry for the wealthy. Something that the rich will buy so they can say they have one spinning on a pedestal in their living room.

Yet, what you're basically buying is a late '90s Harley EVO clone motored Heritage SoftTail with the intake moved to the other side. Even Harley has moved on from the EVO, oh about 10 years ago?

All in all, they will probably do well and be around a while. You or I will not be able to afford one though, even if we wanted to...

REMAIN? wrong verb, I am afraid. BECOME would be more appropriate. But just as unlikely to occur. It's the type of improbable brand revival, not the first one in Indian's history, alas, that is bound to fail. And if it only showed signs of success to the point of potentially encroaching on Harley's sales, Harley would retaliate in no time with a "me-too" Indian rendition at half sticker the price.

What would it take? A pair of mudguards, light brown faux leather seat upholstery, a few ornaments here and there and some bolt-on, visually "differentiated" engine covers.

Indian?: RIP:eek:

I like a "me too" Rocket Chief so people could marvel at the size of my Injun...er engine I mean.
