Simpler and quicker to repair the old one. You will still need a bypass it will happen again.
 
I believe that might be the 'new' one plus a pigtail connector to splice on to the Main Harness (a la Update kit)
I got the a la decosse update , walk up to bike, pull clutch, and push the button and watch all the Harley brothers go WTF was that widow maker
 
No, it's typically the white wire has come adrift in the solder pad - most often it can be re-soldered (unless the pad has been ripped off, but normally just solder detached)
I took it apart and a white wire was still soldered on it's the opposite side the contact point was burned out.
