I bought a new 2014 Roadster in Matte Black at the start of the year and I'm toying with the idea of de-striping it. Has anyone done this ?? I know they're stickers but I'm not sure if the stripes are bonded to the paint somehow.
Matte paint is very hard to repair if you eff it up. You do say that you only have had your Rocket since January or thereabouts? Hopefully you won't see a striped "shadow" of a darker matte black color if you remove the stripe(s); due to the sun fading the area around the striped area.

Its only got about 3000 kilometres on it and doesn't sit out in the sun. I might try and peal back the stripe under the seat or something out of the way first.
Matte does have clear, it has flattening Base added to the 2 pack clear coat to make it dull. you can also buy it without, using acrylic in a can. However if you use acrylic and the humidity weather is **** it will blush….like have whiteish patches. 2 pack is the go, paint in any weather conditions.
EDIT: just seen this was posted 7 years ago Oh well, probably help someone lol
