1974 BMW 900 & 1975 Yamaha RD250

Question about a 1974 BMW 900 (R90) I think, It has about 100K on it but runs real good and looks all original. Does anyone know about thik bike. Approx what it is worth?
Also a 1975 Yamaha RD250 road bike with orig 1300 miles, both bikes look all original. About what would the value be? Are either collectable?
or were might I find info on them.

I wouldn't think of either one of them as "highly collectible". The BMW would probably continue to be a veyr reliable ride and if it's in as good of shape as you say, You could probably ride it anywhere. As far as price goes, I can't really say. I wouldn't expect it to be much over $3000 at the high end? Unless it's a show-room model bike or somehting.

Yamaha's RD family of bikes are very fun. The RD 350 and 400 have a pretty strong following among RD faithful. The 250 is a little smaller and not worth very much in money, but can be a very fun little bike to ride

The first bike I ever laid down in gravel was a RD 100... lol. I really, really liked that little bike and I made sure no damage came to it, but it sure burnt the crap out of my ankle!

Like Pig9r said, check some other places as well. I'm not an expert on either bike (or anything else for that matter...) but I grew up working at a motorcycle shop and have been around alot of these type of bike.

Those RD's are a blast... sell the BMW and fix up the RD.

The RD is collectible and a hoot to ride. If, the RD was a 350 and a Kenny Roberts signature edition not only would it be collectible it would be worth at least 5K. Still, the 250 is a collectors bike but the 350 is more of a collectors bike. I'd ditch the Beamer and keep the RD. Actually, the 74 Beamer makes an excellent tug for a sidecar setup. Later Beamers were re-designed and because of the re-design, the frames weren't structurally efficient enough to carry a sidecar without modification. I'd suggest putting the Beamer on the USCA forum want ad's..... www.sidecar.com for a best offer, that is, unless you want to mount your own sidecar.
