Par (Nussekudden) just broke the crankshaft (!!??!!) on his R3 with turbo
So now he's looking for an replacement engine
Anyone out there who knows where to find one?
Insurance companies? Ebay? Others?

I just removed the secondaries and now my engine light came on, is this normal? At first it wouldn't start but smoothed out, now in the progress of 12 minute tune. Will the light go out?

I first apologize if this info is available in a service manual but my used R3 did not come with one but I was just wondering as to the "normal" oil operating temps and do they vary with the type of oil being used. I am in Thailand and it is always hot here and the bike gets to be quite warm...
Does anyone else have an issue with the engine getting really hot, to the extend that even the frame and side panels get too hot to touch?
Also, I can see the exhaust elbow right below me glow red in the dark!

recently my bike has started missing when on the throttle! starts around 4500rpm, will miss then clearup then start again! anyone have any experience with this? 2008 standard rocket, cutout bearclaw, K&Ns, Jardine exhaust, Tuneboy!
Have just bought my R3 and have only done about 800kms (500miles) since new the engine has produced a soft clacking sound (sounds a bit like gear backlash) during acceleration up to 2000 rpms and then goes quiet from there on.

Anybody had any problems with a horrible noise coming from the timing chain tensioner area/ front of the engine??. My bike is an 05 with only 6000 miles on it. A little suprised that this machine can,t last more than this with out a major engine problem. I,ve already suffered a noisy leaking...

I just bought a used '08 R3 Touring. Being a big guy, I like to sit back in the seat, and had to add risers. All cables seemed fine except the clutch, which I re-routed behind the handlebar.

Has anyone had coolant leaking from rear engine plug on right side about half way up on the engine? The plug is a 14mm allen drive and behind the small filler cover.
Trying to find out torque settings for the plug- if I can even get a allen drive in there- small area
