    Heated Grips Install (part A9638304)

I think I was blinded about my connections and I did not paid attention for Triumph part. So, I wasted time checking connectors that are “impossible” to be wrong connected and did not check the other connectors. When I was about to give up, I just could see the front connector w wires inverted...

    Heated Grips Install (part A9638304)

After hours of work, I found the problem. Cables are inverted at the front connector. I did not replace the wiring, and the original was wrong. So, I inverted cables (positive and pulse) and now it is working!!!! I could never would imagine one factory mistake like that!!!!

    Problem w oem heated grips

It does not make any sense. If you see the diagram you can see ground coming from battery. Positive comes from instrument panel. So, grips do not control anything. Button just send a signal to instrument panel to turn on/off or change temperature (voltage). The “intelligent” control is inside...

    Heated Grips Install (part A9638304)

I disassembled everything today in order to double check it. Even considering the minimum chance of having the connectors reversed, I double checked it. On the left side we have a 3 pin connector and it was correctly connected. On the right side there is a two pin connector. And behind the...

    Heated Grips Install (part A9638304)

It comes with instructions. It is very simple cause wiring is already there. So, you just have to remove the grips and connect the new ones. 15 min work. I would like to know if yours works ok. I installed mine and I am having a hard time. Basically, when I turn it on, it works, but I am not...

Today I disassembled everything. So I connected my grips again and I have the same problem. It turns on, get hot but doesn’t adjust or turns off. It is not the button cause it turns on. It is not harness, both grips works and get hot. I really don’t understand…

Those who have more than one bike

I have a R3R and a Thunderbird Storm. Frankly speaking, I like my Storm more, but both are amazing. For me, the best thing about having 2 bikes is maintenance. Now, I can fix one without pressure. My Storm is in my lift for more than one month and I am ok with it.

    Problem w oem heated grips

Looking for suggestions. I installed a pair of Triumph genuine heated grips on my 2020 R3R. My problem is: they work at max power only and do not turn off. It is so straightforward, that I definitely have no idea what is wrong. I have that sigh at dashboard w heat symbol and 3 stripes, both are...

    Brake fluid replacement/flush

There is no other way to bleed abs. These Triumph dealers think that everything is a rocket science.

    Brake fluid replacement/flush

I am using DOT 5.1. It is better than DOT 4.0. We can never use DOT 5.0, cause it is a different base. But 5.1 is the regular evolution of DOT 4.0 Explaining: DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 are both glycol-based brake fluids. They are compatible each other and they can be mixed. So, DOT 5.1 is better cause...

    Brake fluid replacement/flush

I did it last week and I replace my fluid w DOT 5.1. I was not able to perform the abs bleed. Tried w TUNEECU, but I got some messages w error. It is happening w some models and it seems that the developer is working on it. This sequence previous showed has some errors... The torque is...

10k mile service - DIY (also, Spark Plugs Not Tight & Wire Boots Not Pushed On!)

I did exactly the same w my 2020 R3R... My thoughts: - That side kill switch that comes w American R3 makes the work much harder... Technically we are not supposed to use pliers for the fuel quick connector. With that switch, we have no room for finger or a plier and it requires patience... - I...

OEM Heated grips on 2020 R

If I install original heated grips (a9638304) in my 2020 R model that did not come with it, do I have to go to a Dealer and “register” it w the Triumph dealer tool, or it is plug and play? I think dealer will charge me more than it costs…

    Immobilized

I found the problem. Handlebars wiring harness was partially cut. Handlebars moved less than half inch to the right side and it was enough to cut some wires. Just ordered a new one.

    Immobilized

Hey folks. Let me make it clear. I will not return and sending my bike to a dealer is my worst case. This is my winter project. So, I will remove the fuel tank, dashboard and check every connector and test everything. I don't like these immobilizers, but it is what it is. So, I will keep you...

    Immobilized

I just bought a 2020 R3 in an auction. After replacing crash fuse, checking all fuses, charging battery and replacing fob key battery I have a problem: I have the immobilizer alarm signal only. Battery is 12.6V and side switch is on. I don’t have the extra 2 keys. Any suggestions?
