The R3 has a metal gas tank, right?
Has anyone stripped the paint off, sanded the metal to get a brushed look, followed by applying some lacquer to keep the metal from rusting?
What would be the cons, barring aesthetics, of doing this?

I understand that my question has to do a lot with the riding style, but I'm interested in getting the general range of miles per tire change. My Bonnie, I tend to get around 7000 miles out of the rear wheels.
How many miles do y'all get out of your rear tires? Darksiders need not chime in...
How's the stock seat? Is it comfortable for 200+ miles? The Bonnie's stock seat sucks after about an hour. If the R3 seat is lacking, what's the popular replacement? I'm about to send my Bonnie seat off to itsagreatsaytoride to have is refomed for comfort.
What's the single best thing you've done to your R3 that's not related to increasing power?
Of course you can list a few things, but keep the lists short. I'm looking at purchasing a roadster, and am not concerned with increasing power, but I always appreciate increasing handling.
