Where is or are the cats located on the 2015 Rocket III, ABS model? In the mufflers or in a crossover?

Well, that's what I thought, however, the fella I bought my '15 from said he installed a custom crossover and cut open the box the original crossover was attached to. See attached pictures. I thought the box he pictured was the cat even though it did not look like any cat I've seen. The other picture is the crossover he installed. Hoping you recognize and know what I am looking at. Thanks.

That looks like the paul Bryant crossover pipe but im not sure

What do you make of that box he cut open? Is that a cat or is it a part of the original crossover pipe designed for some other non-cat purpose?

Its just a crossover, the early rockets had the catalytic converter in the crossover. The roadsters have it in the pipes.

Okay, good, thanks. I don't know what the new crossover is supposed to accomplish compared to the old crossover. The bike runs fine and has good sounding mild pops and burbles when down shifting. I'm guessing the new crossover is intended to be an improvement in exhaust flow or power or something.

By the way, I thought, "hugeeee" was an amplification of the word, "hug", which did not seem right. I had to ponder it for awhile before I realized you were saying the mufflers are huge, which they are.

They are typically referred to as "dust bin" mufflers because they resemble trash cans. on newer bikes the size is due to the cat being incorporated in the silencer.By the way, I thought, "hugeeee" was an amplification of the word, "hug", which did not seem right.
