2020 KTM 1290 SAS..2022 KTM 1290 SAR 2024 rocket
7 weeks and $4k got me this. Can't believe $305 import duty on top of a pricy muffler. Didn't ride it yet. Just started it. Almost seems quieter than stock idling. Growls though with a little twist. Now I have to get a new tune loaded for it. I think this might have been the first time I used a 12 point socket, and really needed it. ha ha

A nice side benefit (if you think so) of the Zard is there's more space for the footrest to move rearward. from mids to almost standard position. About 5 more inches back. Just looking at my 1290 I'd say another inch or two back and they would be the same. About even with the front of the seat. Lowered them a bit too, for a bit less leg bend. I'm hoping I can take some weight off my ass if I see a big bump coming. Test ride soon.

You don't need to stand on the pegs, just adjust your suspension by adding preload and/or reducing damping. I have my rear compression damping set to 0.
ha, yup .same here on the damping. zero. I don't mind a bit of wallowing on some undulations. Its just the sharp, hard hits that hurt my back. Pre load is about half way. I was actually standing on the pegs today. Never thought I'd be doing that on this bike. Its just enough to take a little of the bumps with my legs that helps. that is if you can see them in time.

I'm a fatty and have the preload almost to max and it's very comfortable.

Seems expensive especially when I do the $ conversion rate to our currency... Hope you like it a lot!
Yeah, certainly more than I ever spent on an exhaust. The $300 tariff was the most annoying part though. It was already expensive enough without that extra bit for nothing. But I'm happy with the sound. I didn't want an obnoxiously loud, tinny sound. I want to be able to take long highway trips without having to go back to earplugs. Unless you're on it, it really isn't to much louder than stock.

Sooo, rainy day, and I've been curious ever since I lifted the cat and stock manifold. That's 17.3 Kg for you guys across the sea for the whole exhaust. I didn't weight the Zard and Vandemon, but they're saying 5.5 Kg (12.1 lbs) for the Zard, and 3.0 Kg (6.6 Lbs) for the Vandemon stainless manifold. so looks like a 20 Lb. savings.
