BMW R18 concept, thoughts?

I believe it to be quite a beautiful, bordering on elegant, machine. It looks to be extremely uncomfortable but is essentially a styling exercise for BMW.

It is somewhat of a replay of the R1200C which was BMW's entry into the cruiser market in the late 90s. The styling was most unusual with one making into the Guggenheim. It was, back then, referred to as a BMW styling experiment. Timing was also terrible as BMW entered the market with a somewhat under powered cruiser when the power race was just taking off. It never caught on with even the BMW crowd rejecting it.

As one who has long been a fan of the boxer engine, I am extremely interested in what BMW is planning.

Certainly unique styling. Nice to look at and admire, but not sure I would ride it.
 

They state that there will be a whole series of bikes based on this engine. Touring, cruising, bobber etc etc...
