Auxiliary Power Socket

I discovered that the "T socket" has permanent current. It's not good. I would like to have current only with the ignition on
That is an open but fused circuit to the battery to allow an Optimate battery charger connection I believe.

I fitted it with the Triumph factory Euro std DIN plug outlet and a standard 12v cigarette lighter socket with cap on the RHS as well, like Longrider did. I had a little on/off volume knob on my RHS as well for the amplifier under the seat but have since stripped that out so maybe a toggle switch next for either the 12v outlet or to a relay for extra lights etc.

It would be easy and cool to wire up my air compressor which I keep under the seat and have a retractable air hose that came out and allowed you to flick the switch and pump up both tyres, turn off, push back hose and ride off.

Why would you not want it hooked directly? You need at least one source that doesn't need a key. It serves as a charging port and that is what I like about it. I also have used it to feed my electric jacket liner although I later mounted a powerlet port that now runs off my Amplink.

Yes It's true, but the probability of drain your battery is higher, if you forget it switch on. My usb charger have voltmeter and temperature.

With the Corbin Dual Tourer seat, it's a must as the seat requires tools to remove so charging the battery is a pain in the arse.

I fitted the standard accessory socket and bought the cable for my trickle charger to plug straight into it. So my bike lives on the charger when I'm not riding because it's so easy to hook it up..
