WTF just happened at that light?!

I had a white bonnet pull up alongside me at the lights a couple of Saturdays ago...didn't look but could hear it throbbing deeply with the driver giving it a rev and the bonnet lurching...he was on my left so would have been looking directly at the cutaway bears claw and the triple K&N s.....The lights went green and off he went...hard!...couldn't help myself and wrapped her open, hooked 2nd took her to 6000 and looked in the mirror to a cloud off blue smoke with a white bonnet sticking out of it some 100yds back...Haemorrhaged???dunno?... eased off and beetled away...grinning!

The way you write is just awesome. You must be very smart and educated. Me I am just an Ol' country boy that barely made it out of High School.

Bob Carpenter has to be an awesome person too. I would guess that Bob wanted his bike to run as quick as it could in a stock looking M/C................Just my 2 cents. I would also say Bob has enough money to put a M/C Drag slick and screw it to the rim so he could run <10 psi in that slick.
I have Never seen a Pro Stock Class M/C run a motorcycle tire......I wonder why????

You are right about a cold hard compound car tire spinning. My Goodyear F1 Eagle GS D3 in cold weather 35*F and below is hard as a rock until you get some heat into it, that would be dang hard to do just running the 1000 ft. or 1/4 mile. It takes about 15 to 20 miles before it sticks half way like it should. When it is the summer time....a whole different animal. I have launched it about 6 times in anger and it is one hellva of a ride. I am very afraid to do that many times because I know it is going to break something I can't afford to fix.
With the 880 Metz the only thing I have done is wear out the center of the tire with dozens of launches......I get off on doing a good launch...I know.....TMI.....Sorry

You know as good as I do the out come of any test depends on who is doing the testing.....and why.

My old Rocket is just a standard 2005 with a few mods...And yes I would love to have a Carpenter 240+ ......Just maybe my studies would be different.........LOL

OH........I know Art is going to jump all over me about that last post......But you know what.

I love that guy....and anyone that rides a Rocket should to. He has to be the most passionate Rocket Capt. that has ever been or will be.
And GOD help you if you EVER say anything negative about Bob Carpenter.

To me that is one stand up man.

I don't get as much enjoyment from dusting people in cars as I do those on Harleys...people in cars should know better...people on Harleys live in their own little worlds isolated from everything non-Harley, so for them, it's educational...

YO JOE thats funny no we dont run any sklicks with 10lbs of air that will slow the bike we run the stock metz rear tire and it gives us all the traction we need The car tires dont work they slow the bike as they are heavy and youll loose HP We tried one at Bonneville and it was terrible the stock tire worked much better

Well....Art

You should let the guys in Pro Stock know that little secret. No telling on how fast they could run. I bet them old boys at V&H's would have loved that info..

You know.......I am just shaking your chain...I really did mean what I said about your passion
