Guys I have tried searching but cant seem to win. Can anybody point me in the right direction for hard wiring my tom tom rider. I have no idea where to connect it.

Doug – Some (myself included) wire straight to the battery, this still gives you live power when the ignition is switched off. Some wire into the side lights, so it all shuts down when the ignition is switched off…..your call... :D

I wired a cigarette lighter, accessory plug, into the left hand side panel which is wired directly to the battery and it has an inline fuse in the wiring. I then use the car cigarrette lighter attachment that comes with the GPS and plug the GPS into this that way the wiring as well as the GPS is entirely removeable from the bike. It's a very easy mod to do as all you have to do is drill a larger hole where the accessory plug exists on the left hand plastic side cover then wire directly to the battery.

I wired mine into a PC8 from Eastern Beaver http://easternbeaver.com

This device has a fuse for each accessory connected and connects to a relay off of the battery. Also lets me connect other devices. It was very easy to install and cleaned up a mess of wiring for me.

I went to the "beaver" site. It wasn't quite what I was hoping for!
