Windshields. Which one?

Hey Willtill. Just saw your note.... I have an extra Triumph windshield laying around that I'm thinking about selling. Not perfect, but in very nice condition. Don't have an extra fixing kit on hand. Could let it go for 325 + shipping if you want it instead of buying a new one....

No thank you. Already ordered a new one plus fixing kit.

Kindest regards,

-Will

See you've ordered your 'shield so this won't be of interest anymore.

However anyone else thinking about a windsheild, the reference to Skidmarx earlier on.

I have checked their website and they are still supplying their own make which includes the fixing lit for around £110 plus delivery to where ever.

I've got the clearview on mine (sometimes) and find it much bettter than the triumph screens.

I'm around six foot and the buffetting from the Triumph screen was murder.

Don't think they ever could ever have tested them in real conditions

I'm 5'10". If the Triumph Roadster Windscreen ends up beating myself up from turbulence; I will later opt for a taller ClearView.

I did want the ClearView from the get-go, but they don't supply the necessary brackets. They say that you have to re-use the ones from the Triumph shields. So really no choice but to go ahead and order one.

Kindest regards,

I have the triumph sport screen and that works fine for me.

Yep' i used the metalwork from the triumph screen for my clearview.

The link fot skidmarx is

www.skidmark.co.uk You'll need to type ias i don't know how to get the direct link

When on the site go to the top selection bar and click Screens and h/light covers, The yellow bar, if you stay on the yellow bar you'll see Custom Cruiser Screen kits. Select that and youll see the motorcycle brands, select triumph and scroll down and hey presto 8)

I had the full size Triumph screen but it got scraped in the accident. I took the brackets, hardware and the insurance co. money and bought a 30x32" clear view, w/recurve and the adjustable vent. I put about 6 hours of riding time on it and have some observations...

-At 6'6" the top of the screen is right at eye height. If I sit ramrod straight I can see over no prob, if I slouch it's in my line of sight, if I really slouch, I look through it.

-It blocks a LOT more wind than the Triumph screen, and it pushes the wind way up over my head. The problem now is that I really feel the air coming up over the radiator tank. May need to break down and get lowers.

-I hear a slightly increased turbulent rushing sound over my head now, but overall noise is reduced.

-The vent doesn't seem to affect turbulence or noise in any noticeable way. I thought opening it would reduce the low pressure behind the windscreen and reduce turbulence, and science says it must be doing that to some degree, but in reality there is no sensory change with vent opened or closed, other than a stream of air on your chest. At these cool autumn temps the vent isn't really in play, but i could see it boosting comfort in the summer.

-It's been a few weeks of high wind here, with lots of gusts. This week end was no exception. I find the Clearview doesn't add to "gusting drift" versus the Triumph shield.

Skidmarx screen

I just got a skidmarx screen its cheap $200 delivered with all the hardware. That being said you get what you pay for. The hardware looks pretty cheesy it's not chrome it looks like zinc plating. I just got it on and the weathers crappy so I don't know how it performs yet.
