Will triumph developed the roadster any further

Is the triumph rocket roadster going to get developed any further or are they going to phase it out , as it seems that the new Thunderbird LT is triumphs new baby. I had three rockets and I love them, but is it the end of a iconic British bike , so they can concentrate on these models. My local dealer in the uk are finding it harder to push the rocket sales. But the Thunderbird are flying off the shelves. Let's see what you all think. As for me triumph could do a lot more with the bike . My opinion is by painting couple stripes over the tank and derestricting the gear box in the first three gears and giving it a dull paint job is not the way to go.
 
My dealer seems to think that this year was the year of the Thunderbird and that next year or the year after we will see similar changes to the Rocket.

I tend to disagree with him simply because Triumph seems to be phasing out all of the Rocket accessories.

It's ok with me either way, I got mine!
 
Me two, but let's see what happens. As long as the rocket doesn't get devalued regarding after sales prices
 
I think the Rocket is going away...it just didn't get the market penetration Triumph had hoped
 
Afraid the new Thunderbirds in whatever guise they come in do little to excite me .. for the sake of a few kilos you loose all the torque and horsepower of the Rocket , don't make sense to me. But they are selling well worldwide and at the end of the day that's what manufacturers want... bikes sold on masse.
 
Just wish triumph could of done more. It's shame but I agree what you said regarding the power of the rocket. We had a open day today at our local dealer in the uk and I had a test run very nice to ride, but then I stepped back on my rocket and I no which bike I prefer
 
They have to keep it around for their lsr attempts with castrol, no? Isn't some of the rules that it have to be from a current production bike? Just trying to justify its existence...
 
It's really strange to me, trading my Storm for a R3 standard I couldn't justify the meager $200.00 difference in price. On paper there is no reason for the thunderbird line, but when I plunked my massive 5'7" 160 lbs on both bikes the storm fit better it looks better and it handles better. It also has a pretty cool tach(opinion) and miles to empty. for some reason the bike felt better lugging around in 6th gear at 30mph than any bike ought to, but the whole time on it I was searching for performance parts to make it quicker and faster. The Dude Triumph hired to design/style the t-bird should be given a crack at the rocket before they consider giving up on the patform. I'll put a 2nd rocket in the stable if triumph drops the line.
 
Personally I reckon the last bloke to be given a crack a re-designing, updating or somehow enhancing the RIII is the T'Bird designer. T'Bird really doesn't look all that different to a lot of similar sized cruisers on the market .. there's nothing really distinctive about it's looks in my opinion anyway. Guzzi , BMW , KTM , NORTON and all the Jap manufacturers are designing some pretty distinctive and cutting edge machines of late .. T'Bird is just another one among the many of the run-of-the-mill cruisers.
