Thanks for writing this up, this gives me a better idea of approach. I also bought one of these at the same time (mine also came in this week) and I'll be installing it at some point but I ordered the one with the adjuster.

Nice. Post some pics. Curious how the remote hydraulic adjuster mounts. I'd guess to the OEM holes. I was thinking of the hydraulic adjuster, but they want so much for it. and I don't know how often I'd change it.
 
Yes, the adjuster mounts in the stock location. I'll grab some pics when I get to the install. Just curious for the top nut did you go in with your wrench from way underneath like the pic or did you go in under the seat/behind the tank?

I went in along side the shock on the inside of it from the rear. I didn't even need to take the seat off actually. And the muffler's off because I had it re coated. Nothing to do with the shock install. I just left it off because I figured I'd chip it with a wrench or something. Best thing is to get a good light and look in and find the nut. Then you'll see where you have to get an open end.
