The Avon Cobras were my go-to for all of my cruisers, and their sudden lack of availability did put me in my feelings for a minute. Like many others, I've since switched to Exedra (Max in the rear, G701 in the front) on both Rockets, and they're fine. The small change in geometry is welcomed, other than having to mess with the rear fender on the second gen.
They make them in France, now. However, per Goodyear's corporate site, their Avon brand is only available in EMEA (Europe, near Middle East, and Africa).

I've been running the $190 Bridgestone G701 Exedra Touring Front Motorcycle Tire 150/80R-17 (72H), but getting uneven wear and even lower than my usual 4,000 miles. With this last one I just hit 3,000 miles and already hitting the wear indicators. It's twisty and rough pavement here, but d@mn!
I used to run the Dunlop Elite 4 on the front of my Roadster and loved them, but they've gotten outrageously expensive- just like the Crusitecs (well, not $10 grand, yet) and Chromes. Anyway, I just bit the bullet and paid $340.52 for a #*&!^@!!! front tire that will, maybe give me 4 - 4,500 miles. We'll see.
There should be some kind of "loyalty program" from these manufactures, or some kind of senior discount, at least, for us old guys that like to putter around.
