Well, that didn't last long....

Onchan, happy you bought a bike you like, regardless of brand. My garage is a happy residence for a rocket, a can am spyde, a kawasaki ninja, a harley softail, a honda cbr and a cadillac motorized bycicle, i like them all, and more than likely the brands will keep changing if i find something different in the future, see? Im an equal oportunity rider just like you:D

A Can Am?????

I had a 94 Dynaglide when I bought my Rocket, I remember when I got the Harley, I was so happy, I finally had a Harley. But for some reason it killed my back on anything over 60 miles, the ergos just weren't right for me. After a year of hardly riding it, I sold it, I didn't want to throw money at it in hopes of making it comfortable. But I agree, there's a certain "thing" about a Harley, I wouldn't rule out owning one again, maybe a bigger one, a Road King or Ultra Classic. Not a go fast bike, but cool for what they are.

Yeah Tripps, i had to make my Harley fit me, any bike bigger that 250cc is too big for me:eek:
the Can Am is what my wife rides to the RAAs, usually i ride the rocket, they say i look like a a fly on an elephant:D

Good thing everyone doesn't like rockets. Other than the Aussies on this site and Mitch's mates Ive never ridden with anyone else on a Rocket. The main group of mates Ive been riding with for over 30 years ride either 1000cc to 1400cc jap bikes or Harleys with a couple of speed triples, Bonnevilles and a Tiger with a Diavel thrown in.When I ride I like to be as close as possible to the front. We tend not to ride in a pack but seam to get strung out over a few klm's in groups of 3 or 4 with similar mood, abilaty and motor cycle capability. After 20 years of this on a Softail with the trottle in one of 2 positions wide open or closed and pulling on the front brake as hard as possible. Iwas glad to get on something with power, brakes and better ground clearence. Don't get me wrong those jap bikes can make you look slow in the tight mountian stuff but I'm always right there behind the fast blokes on the jap bikes and the Diavel. Infront of the Harleys and the first Triumph Ihope none of my mates ever buy a Rocket.

Ride what suits you, I reckon. As he says, more or less, the Rocket was way too much bike for him and he's probably better off on something with the power:weight of a tree falling. ;) Hope he's happy with it.

i remember my first encounter with a harey i was on my 83 kawasaki gt 550 (shaft drive) not very powerful 56hp but smooth and economical could do 600ks on 21 liters of fuel, anyway court up to a harley behind a small truck and was getting ready to over take he had seen me behind him as i was indicating to over take as well ( i thought to my self better shift down a couple of gears i
didn't i would keep up), i seen shift down and herd the raw as he open her up I pined my throttle but hang on some things wrong here i was caching up and could of over took him but i backed off
, ahh thats when i realized its about how much noise they make not how they go:D
