why do you use the rear brake? it is a question not a statement I sure would like to know.. also who teaches rider to use the rear brake alone I have so far found nobody in teaching classes that would explain to me the advantage of using the rear brake for stopping .. i was taught a good usage of rear brake was to alter your line in a turn at high speed and I can say it did work in tightening the radius and when riding 2up it has effective stopping power due to the weight on the rear wheel (the heavier the passenger the better the braking otherwise it is in my view ineffective in slowing and stopping without the front brake..

I guess my pet peeve is to rambling about it so pay no attention ..

Hell I don't know Duke. It is a bad habit, though I do use the fronts alot more than I used to. Maybe a panic situation. I think in this case I was better off with a loose rear than a loose front. You guys keep hammering on this thick skull and maybe I'll get her right. Thanks for asking Duke,

Reminds me of a fellow who used to tour with my dad and his friends. They all had Goldwings, he had the only Harley. He always encouraged the others to look for falling parts and he would buy them back at the end of the day ! Another time someone asked him why his old shovel head didn't have a tachometer. He said it wasn't needed, just rev her till the bolts start backing out, then shift !
