I have had this issue with my other Triumph. Highly recommend if you need parts to call around or order them on line yourself. It took me 6 weeks to get a part from the mother country once. I would not do a head gasket, but find most repairs we documented in manual and on you tube. Only job I will not do is change the tyre on the rim. Been there-done that- hell no.

Also a good excuse to have a second bike in reserve. Hee Hee

Sorry to hear of the situation, not the best and no doubt spoiling the new bike experience for you. I feel your pain as I had the same happen to me 15 kms into the first ride on my first brand new R3T back in 2008.

I found from my own experience that it's down to how much noise you want to make about it.

Obviously you need to keep the dealer on side, they get paid to work on a "clean" new bike and will attract your business if you are satisfied, a good dealer would not have a problem going into bat for you. I jumped up and down to Triumph direct about the new bike experience... I found them to be helpful, they had the dealer provide me with a demo R3T to ride until mine was fixed.
