On Sunday midday this happened.
This on a fairly hairy road near where I work.
The result

It's under control now, but what a mess.

Has wiped out all Landlines to the area.
Try running a town hall in a state of alert with just one cellphone Hotspot!.

I'm a bit torn tbh.

It's to early to know - but the village I work in is already seriously Anti-Bike.

The guy was fine.
The bike exploded, which is rare.
His Insurance company must be fretting.

But it is **** like this that starts the banning of bikes on certain roads like in Austria.
And when it is one of my routes to work - that would piss me off royally.

Yes that's petty, but whilst I don't know - but can guess what happened.
The road has been an unofficial Pikes Peak type of "circuit" for years.
Look what happened even when it was official.

Wow looks like the town was almost a gonna.

Great work from the fire brigade and water bombing planes and helicopters.

Sadly we know the problem well. Tinder dry and usually some strong winds this time of year.
Water bombers practice scooping on the reservoir just over the hill from where we live pretty much all year.
Nothing like the Aussies last year - but ................ there is an evil pixie somewhere that causes some ruddy catastrophe every time I take leave.

Trying to call colleagues but all telephones are collapsed. COVID means lot's of home workers using 4G routers and folk on holiday too.
