Velkommen from down under - Was in Tonsberg middle of last year for a wedding, sensational part of the world, clubbed a baby seal, ate a whale burger and dug up viking mounds looking for treasure. Although sleat and a little snow in summer wasn't really my thing

I'd say get your stiggy little hands on anything that's available but getting a gloss/red combo to match your car is a bit like getting matching tracksuits/leisuresuits for you and the missus, yeah nar don't do that.

Welcome from WA State!
You be at the right place if you become a Rocket owner.
Your American is very good!

There's a gloss black/red stripe demo at British USA in South Houston. Off I-45 south at College Ave. It has quite a few accessories added to it and what I thought was a REALLY good price. Saw it yesterday. You may want to take a look. Google "British USA South Houston". (No relation to me. Just more family atmosphere than Mancuso)

Skoal, Martin and another welcome to the madness from Joisey...
Yours was a great introductory write up. Enjoy the ride!

mr hunt Hehe, Tønsberg can be mighty cold, just be glad you didn't go during wintertime; it's the place in Norway where the winter temps have been the lowest recorded in the country Snow in summer is not common, but also not unheard of! Nice place, though, beautiful location. Glad you got your seal clubbing, whale eating, mound raiding fun on! As for the matching bike and car being like matching tracksuits; I don't care, the old lady already has clothes that matches the car (black dress with red stripes, stockings with the same), so I'm all good and everyone elses opinion be ****ed

1olbull Thanks! I prefer to think of it as the Queen's English, since I still say things like aluminium and write colour the way it's supposed to be written, but that's just me. Heh!

MarvinM Thanks for the heads-up, man! I'm calling them now; cheers again.

TriumphPhil Heh, love the avatar! And Skål indeed! I've only made it to Joisey once, but I liked it after having spent a week in (on?) Manhattan, and would like to go back and see more of the state at some point. Thanks for the compliment, and you bet I will!

Welcome to the forum. Just don't expect to see snow more than once a decade below I-10, but we do get to ride year round.

Steel Hehe, so I hear. I guess I'll just have to go to the mountains instead of waiting for snow to come to me!

So, I talked to the guys at British USA and I'm going to go down there tomorrow. I forgot to ask why the bike was being sold, because it does look like a good price.

14.999,- plus TTL for a '13 Rocket III in Phantom black with red stripes, saddlebags, touring windscreen, and pillion backrest (unsure if it's tall or short), with 550 miles on it. What do you guys think? Also, dibs, just in case!

Not likely. Its between Larvik and Horton, south of Oslo, on the west side of the Oslo Fjord. My grandfather did his military service there around 1920. I visited there about 25 years ago, and it was quite pleasant. No baby seals to club. No whale burgers to eat. One of Norway's nicer climates, although I prefer it further south, down near Frolands Verk or Kristiansand.

Trondheim (edit: I meant Tromso, although Trondheim is cold enough) is mighty cold, with possibility of snow in summer. I would have thought that the lowest temperatures recorded in the country would be up at Svalbord. I've never been that far north myself.

In any event, it is nice to see how welcoming folks here are Rocket Headquarters are. Good show.

Sounds like somebody wanted the Rocket, then realized it was more monster than they could control.
If there are any white marks on the seat, it's probably not wax it'll be chicken sh!t from the original owner loosing his composer.

That's what I was figuring, Steel. I'll make sure to inspect the saddle thoroughly tomorrow...
