- 2023 Triumph R3 GT, 2022 Moto Guzzi V85TT,
Well this afternoon about 3, I finally got my parts in. I thought it was going to be the rear bearing and the cover gasket . What I got was the gasket and a big box for a single bearing. As it turns out for my $74 , I got the front and rear bearing, the rear cover, seal , bearing holding plate, and another cover gasket.
Took about 90 minutes to swap everything out and it is ready to go back in tomorrow morning . I did fine some interesting things. First the rear bearing which I thought was the real villian , turned out to be not as bad as I thought. The front bearing on the other hand was in real need of replacing. To be honest I thing that is where the bulk of my problems were. It had not started throwing cage parts yet , but I do not think it would have been long before it did.
The new rear bearing is sealed , and after it is installed and the 35mm nut is torqued , there is no play what so ever. As for the case & bearing plate , I have no idea why it included. MMy olld one looks good. I'll keep and give it to anyone who really needs it.
I do want to thank the guys thatr rendered a lot of help, and answered my dumb questions. Now it is just a matter of putting it back together , and hoping that I do not have to mamy spare parts.
THANKS AGAIN
Mick
