Not sure if this helps in answering the original question on this thread but there were around 18,000 Triumph Rocket 111 produced between its launch in 2004 and 2010. Of these around 34% were exported to the USA - so around 6120 TR3's in the states.

I am in NJ and rarely see another R3. Tons of Harleys and Japanese rice rockets but I can count the number of R3s I've seen in the past two years on half a hand!
The Rocket just never caught on in the USA.
When I stop at a place with other bikes, my R3 is looked at almost as a curiosity! The onlookers saying how amazing it is but will they buy one...NO!
Do I understand?......not really

The US easily buys more R3 than any other country but I think the penetration is much higher in smaller populations like the UK and Australia.
I read somewhere Australia buys about 10% of the R3s made in a population of 20million
Ive always felt it was the perfect bike for Oz,big tank for the long gaps between fuel stops,big doughnut tyres for the bad roads and cattle grids and lots of room for all the extra gear you need on a long trip.
Runs ring around the V twins on those points and I havent even mentioned
the 140hp

I suspect other riders are intimidated by its size ,even when you point that there are at least 3-4 bikes that have a heavier wet weight.
The looks dont suit everyone,most people are brainwashed into thinking that a cruiser can only look like a HD.
