After 40 years of riding, and never attending Street Vibrations in Reno NV, nor ever being even remotely interested in going, I attended last weekend for the 1st time.
Heres how it happened.........
I was in a bar a few weeks ago, (who me?) :whitstling:
My buddy says hey we're going to street vibrations wanna go? Me: No...
a couple beers and a couple shots later.......... I'm on the Silver Legacy Hotel website reserving a room for 1 night for $400.00 :banghead:
I spent the next couple weeks trying to talk myself out of going, but since Mrs. Rktnmypkt has the final say off we went..........
After meeting up with a few other riders, we began the 3.5 hr ride to Reno, We made good time we were cruising the interstate at around 80 +
The only drawback was one of our riders has a bit of a bladder issue and we kept having to stop for bathroom breaks
Although I was trying not to be to judgmental I had to laugh at all of the vehicles with CA plates trailering their bikes into Nevada.:rolleyes:
But eventually we made it to Truckee Ca where during another Pee break I noticed a bar  Appropriately called the Bar of America If your ever in Truckee its worth checking out.
So after some liquid cheer we arrive in Reno at the hotel where I promptly paid an additional 25 bucks for early check in.....
We then promptly relocated to another bar in the casino.
After getting some food at a local mexican joint we decided to find the festivities, Apparently in the past they would block off the streets in downtown Reno for Vendors, This time in all their wisdom due to Covid they crammed all of the vendors into the Sands hotel parking lot and a few side streets.
After too long of a walk in my riding boots, we arrive at the Sands hotel, Where after about an hr of looking at Vendor merchandise and listening to a ZZ Top cover band we made our way back to the Casino and another bar 😁
The next morning we meet for breakfast, They decided to revisit the vendors, My wife and I went and visited our daughter and her boyfriend who live in Fernley (we met at a bar :whitstling: )
My wife and I rode back on our own without the group, Where we split lanes for about 100 miles or so before traffic cleared up. We arrived home at around 2:30 PM where I promptly kicked off my boots and had a cold beer....

So thats it!!! After 40 years of avoiding street Vibrations I see absolutely no reason to go back for at least another 40, Although I am always open for an excuse to ride. especially with friends.
Next week we are off to Maui for our honeymoon where I'm certain we will find another bar.........
